[Backups of Fences Layouts/Snapshots](https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1331331082/Backup+and+Restore+the+Layout+of+Fences) are available for restoring Fences to a previous desktop layout.  

However, to backup the configuration of the Fences settings themselves, this can be done through an export of the software’s Windows Registry entries:

## HKLM

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Fences

## HKCU

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Fences

## Batch File

This batch file will export them both and place them in the current users \Documents folder.

To restore these specific settings, double click each reg file and follow \ accept the prompts from Windows. 


> ⚠️ Note: You will need to log-off/login or reboot after restoring the .reg files
